Share

Acer recently re-launched their latest laptop product, the Acer Aspire Vero. Acer Aspire Vero is a fresh breakthrough in the laptop world because it carries a different mission from laptops in general, namely a green mission by using recycled materials in most of the materials used. We’ve often seen laptops advertised as powerful machines or thin and light bodies, some of which are specifically intended for gaming.

Design

The new Acer Aspire Vero (AV15-51) laptop is designed to be a refresher for the laptop industry because it carries a green mission that is aimed at environmentally conscious consumers with concerns about the negative impact of consumer electronic waste on the planet Earth.

In terms of design, the Acer Aspire Vero Laptop is made with an outer material made of medium gray plastic with dark gray and yellow spots. At first glance, the case looks like floor tiles, but this is where it stands out in terms of design. In everyday use, scuffs and scratches will be difficult to see on the surface of the laptop. On the armrest clearly engraved the words Post Consumer Recycled (PCR), the material that Acer is proud of in this Aspire Vero laptop.

The plastic case is made of 30% PCR material (whole body and screen bezel). The plastic material on the keycaps (keys on the keyboard) is made of 50% PCR material.

The embedded 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panel has even better recycling rates as it is claimed to be 99% recyclable. The box. And all the pads and packaging to protect this laptop are also said to be 100% recyclable. And environmentally friendly because they are made from 85% recycled paper and soy ink.

The Aspire Vero is EPEAT Silver certified, which means this 1.8kg laptop meets a significant list of environmental. And socially responsible criteria, including substance management, material selection, product lifespan, energy consumption, packaging, carbon footprint. And corporate environmental performance and social responsibility.

When you open the laptop for the first time, you will immediately see the R and E keys on the yellow keyboard, and the letters are printed backwards (mirror effect).

R and E are emphasized because they are important initials of concepts such as REview, REthink, REcycle. And REduce as well as perhaps Easy to REpair. It looks like Acer wants us to remember the words RE on this laptop.

Being a form of technological movement, gadgets are now increasingly difficult to repair. So it’s really interesting to see a company like Acer touting its products as easy to fix. The Aspire Vero uses standard Phillips screws for easy disassembly for repairs and upgrades.

Speaking of ports, the Aspire Vero has one USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port and two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports. And one of these ports can charge other gadgets even when the laptop is not turned on. There’s also one more USB-A 2.0 port, an HDMI 2.0 port, a DC jack for charging, and an ethernet and headphone jack.

Acer Aspire Vero Performance

For performance, the Acer Aspire Vero is powered by an Intel Core i5-1155G7, which is an interesting feature in terms of performance from the Acer Aspire Vero. Coupled with the integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU, 512GB SSD, and 8GB RAM. The Aspire Vero is one of the most powerful machines one can find in its price class. And the Aspire models are generally designed for everyday use with a focus on productivity tasks such as organizing email, word processing, making presentations, browsing the web, as well as enjoying entertainment.

And for consumers who like Aspire Vero, it can also play a number of non-AAA game titles on this device, edit photos and videos, and perform heavy tasks that rely on CPU power.

Software

There is built-in software embedded in the Aspire Vero to improve the user experience. Such as Acer TrueHarmony for richer and more vibrant audio and PurifiedVoice, which uses AI to reduce noise in use for video conferencing.

Battery

As for the Acer Aspire Vero battery, it is claimed to use up to about 7 hours. The Acer Aspire Vero is equipped with VeroSense. It is software that makes it easy for users to choose a usage model that is optimized for power efficiency and battery life. Because saving energy is also one of the steps that are environmentally friendly. VeroSense provides four performance modes ranging from Performance, Balanced, Eco, and Eco+.
