The Acer Predator Triton 300 SE laptop is a 14-inch gaming laptop with an easy-to-love blend of portability and performance. It combines a sleek design and long battery life with the latest Intel Core i7 “Tiger Lake-H” processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU to create a solid mid-range gaming rig at a very reasonable price.
Its streamlined screen may be cramped for some, but you can’t beat its true portability and high-refresh-rate 1080p gaming if you’re looking for an alternative to other 15.6-inch gaming machines. Like last year’s Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, the Triton 300 SE sets a new standard at this size, earning our Editors’ Choice crown for mid-range gaming laptops.

Predator Triton 300 SE Design
Design-wise, the Predator Triton 300 SE is a sleek little package, easy to appreciate for its size alone. It brings some style, too, with a chic all-silver look and a glossy finish to the lid. The logo is also not an eyesore on the front and center.
But downgraded to a neat badge in the top right corner. Some might call it basic, but I think a more minimalistic approach lends itself to a compact size. Users can see at a glance that it is slim, light, and ready to carry and use. And the Triton 300 SE Laptop measures 0.7 by 12.7 by 9 inches (HWD) and weighs 3.75 pounds, making it incredibly mobile for a gaming notebook.
Keyboard and Toucpad
As for its keyboard and touchpad, the Predator Triton 300 SE is equipped with a moderate amount of key travel but feels very responsive and features an adjustable backlight (in three zones, not per key) with lots of colors and effects.
The Predator Triton 300 Touchpad, meanwhile, feels above average in quality and responsiveness, with ultra-smooth panning and a premium feel. It also includes a fingerprint reader on the top left for fast and secure login.
Simple port options complement the physical build. The left side has a USB 3.1 Type-A port, a USB-C port with Thunderbolt 4 support, and a power connector.
On the right, there’s another USB-A 3.1 port and an HDMI connection for an external monitor. It’s not a huge number of ports, but it will give you what you need for most use cases without feeling too restrictive. The system also includes Wi-Fi 6 (with Killer network to boost your connection while gaming), Bluetooth, and a 720p webcam in the top bezel. For the price the Predator Triton 300 SE from Acer sells for $1,399.99
