AMD prepares new GPU Instinct, check out the news

AMD is currently reportedly preparing for their new GPU lineup, which has the Aldebaran code. . This GPU will display two dies, namely the secondary die and the primary die. The block diagram shows two dies, with each consisting of 8 shader engines for a total of 16 SEs.

Wccftech reports, each Shader Machine packs 16 CUs with a full-rate FP64. This GPU will also use a packaged FP32, as well as use the 2nd Generation Matrix Engine for FP16 & BF16 operation. AMD is currently reportedly preparing for the presence of their new GPU lineup, which has the Aldebaran code. This GPU is said to use the MCM design and will use very capable components.

In the block diagram for this GPU, it can be seen that AMD looks very serious in building this GPU. This is because the Radeon Instinct GPU is intended for professional work areas. One of the GPUs that will be presented is the AMD Instinct MI200. This GPU will display two dies, namely the secondary die and the primary die. Moving on to DRAM, this AMD product already uses an 8-channel interface consisting of 1024-bit interfaces for each 8192-bit wide bus interface. Each of these interfaces can support a 2GB HBM2e DRAM module.

Each dice consists of 128 computing units or consists of 8192 stream processors. Thus rounding off a total of 256 compute units or 16,384 stream processors for the entire chip.

This will give users HBM2e memory capacity of up to 16 GB of heaps and a total of eight heaps, for a total capacity of 128 GB. This amount is 48 GB more than the A100, which houses 80 GB of HBM2e memory.

For the product itself, the AMD Instinct MI200 accelerator will actually use a cut-down configuration consisting of 224 CU or 14,336 cores. That’s about 14% lower cores than what Aldebaran GPUs offer.
