Intel officially launches NUC 11 Extreme check the specs


Intel has launched their newest NUC 11 Extreme Beast Canyon. NUC This is the biggest thing Intel has ever made but offers a very high upgrade. This Intel NUC Extreme Beast Canyon is powered by the latest 11th generation tiger lake series processors and now supports full-length graphics cards. This will give users the convenience of flexibility to choose a GPU.

For the case of the NUC 11 Extreme Beast Canyon Kit, it uses a size of 8 litres with chassis dimensions of 357 x 189 x 120mm. Interestingly, there is a single PCIe 4.0 x16 expansion slot inside. To help with GPU performance with high wattage, Intel provided a 650W PSU that was certified 80 Plus Gold ITX. When compared to its predecessor, the size of this PSU is 150W higher.

Users will get a processor from the Tiger Lake-H series. User options include desktop processors that have eight cores and 16 threads. Some of the processors that users can choose from are Intel Core i9-11900KB and Core i7-11700B. The user will also be given the option to get the Core i5-11400H option. The Intel Core i9-11900KB and Core i7-11700B will have a TDP of 65W, and the Core i5-11400H will have a TDP of 45W according to the user’s choice.

The only processor that can be overclocked is the Core i9-11900KB and has a boost clock of up to 4.9 GHz. The bad news, it’s still unknown how Intel can anticipate the heat generated by the processor when overclocked. Beast Canyon utilizes the WM590 chipset specifically designed for Tiger Lake processors and supports up to 64GB of DDR4-3200 1.2V SO-DIMM memory. This compact computer comes with four M.2 slots and two SATA 6Gbp slots.

In terms of ports, this mini PC comes with six USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, two are Thunderbolt 4 ports, and one is HDMI 2 port. There is also an additional PCIe 4.0 x4 expansion slot for additional cards. Connectivity at Beast Canyon includes 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, 6E Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.2.

The Intel NUC 11 Extreme ‘Beast Canyon’ is currently available for pre-order at Simply NUC. Users will be able to purchase the NUC version with Core i9-11900KB starting at $1,599. While the NUC with Core i7-11700B starts at $1,399, and the NUC with Core i5-11400H starts at $1,299.
