Ricoh recently launched their newest 360-degree camera, the Theta X 360 camera, scheduled for March 2022. This Heta X camera is the first to include a 2.25-inch touchscreen, a replaceable battery, and a micro SD card slot.
And Unlike Ricoh’s previous 360-degree Theta cameras. Which relied heavily on an external phone or tablet to control, transfer. And edit video and photo footage, Theta X takes a more complete approach.
Features, Battery
For its main features, the Ricoh Theta X 360 camera is equipped with a 2.25-inch touch screen that is used to navigate the camera menus and set shots. Although much smaller than the display on a smart device (mobile phone). This screen allows users to get the results they need on the go without the hassle of connecting Theta X with a phone or tablet.
And for the battery, Ricoh has also added a replaceable battery. And a micro SD card slot, both of which are firsts in the Theta camera system. With this feature, as long as users have an extra battery. And a micro SD card, they can shoot for as long as they need without having to charge the device again.
And previous Theta X Camera Models only had a built-in battery and storage. Which severely limited the versatility of the functions the camera had to offer. If a user needs to connect a phone or tablet to the Theta X, Ricoh says the process has been improved by eliminating the need to enter the SSID during the Bluetooth connection process.
This Theta X 360 camera features a 48 MP CMOS image sensor, an upgraded main processor. And an improved lens design. When shooting 360 degrees, Theta X can capture 60 MP images. For video, Theta X shoots 5.7K (5760 x 2880 pixels) video at up to 30 fps with ‘enhanced image stabilization.
Released Date, Price
The Ricoh Theta X will be available in March 2022 for $799. And other features include a built-in GPS for geolocation information. And a USB-C port on the side of the camera to keep the device charged via power bank without the need to change batteries.
