Sony has announced its latest product, two flagship smartphones, in April this year – Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III. While the Sony Xperia 5 III is already available for purchase in the US, UK, and Australia, the device has not yet gone on sale in China.

Xperia 5 III Design
By design, the Sony Xperia 5 is equipped with a 6.1-inch Full HD + OLED screen that offers a refresh rate of 120Hz and an aspect ratio of 21:9. Sony says the phone was co-developed with engineers for the Alpha 9 series mirrorless camera. The triple camera system includes a 12-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 12-megapixel telephoto zoom lens.
Sony Xperia 5 III Performance
For performance, the Sony Xperia 5 III is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This Sony Xperia 5 III is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and is equipped with a two-step physical camera shutter button. The company has also decided to keep the 3.5mm headphone jack. The device also supports 360 live sound effects and Hi-Res audio playback.
Unlike the global version, the Xperia 5 III smartphone in China will run Meizu’s Flyme OS out-of-the-box, based on the Android operating system. It aims to offer a local experience and will come with support for Alipay and WeChat mobile payments. The Xperia 5 III is backed by a 4,500mAh battery and supports 30W fast charging technology.

As of today, Sony has started taking pre-orders for the Xperia 5 III smartphone in China, which is priced at $1,033. The Sony Xperia 5 comes in three color options – Black, Pink, and Green, and the device will go on sale from December 1.
