Apple recently released a new product in the form of a gadget cleaning cloth called the Polishing Cloth. The cloth comes with the launch of the MacBook Pro and AirPods 3. This Polishing Cloth functions to clean the screens of various Apple devices. From Apple Watch smartwatches, iPhones, iPads, iPods, to MacBook and iMac monitors.
Polishing Cloth Design, Perfomance
For performance, Polishing Cloth has a “compatibility list” containing a list of devices whose screens can be cleaned with Polishing. Maybe this means the cloth can only be used to clean the screen of the device in the list or not.
In terms of design, the Apple Polishing Cloth is practically similar to a microfiber cloth in general. However, this cleaning cloth is dominated by white, and there is an Apple logo that appears in the lower right corner.
Apple did not officially explain what makes this product special compared to cleaning cloths made from microfiber, which are generally sold at much cheaper prices. However, Apple claims that this cloth is made with a soft, non-abrasive material, so it is safe and effective when used to clean all types of Apple device screens, including the Pro Display XDR monitor and the 27-inch iMac that has a nano texture.
And the Monitor Pro Display XDR does come with a special cleaning cloth that is similar to the Polishing Cloth this time. Apple said the screen could only be cleaned with the cloth but did not explain why.
Price
For the price of this Polishing Cloth, it is quite expensive for a piece of cleaning cloth, which is $19. The corresponding product page on Apple’s website does not include a sizing description of the Polishing.
